![]() We got all the original files shared around, but over the coming weeks the complaints began. Brilliant.Ī few months ago, I started using Dropbox with a new group of people I’m working with, and to facilitate that process, we set up a new Dropbox folder and shared it around.Īt least, thats what we thought we had done, but it just didn’t work. I’ve had a folder set shared across all my various Macs and IOS devices for ages, and I’ve had another folder shared with some colleagues for months – all working perfectly, with file updates from any of us turning up for everyone else. Nothing looked wrong, but updates to the original files we’d shared around never appeared. I use it a lot, and I rely on it a lot.īut I had a real problem with it – sharing a folder with a new work group lately just wouldn’t work. I'm pretty sure the clever folk at Dropbox could do the same thing.Dropbox ( ) is an amazingly useful product. surely?īox.net create a 'folder email address', and all you need to do is add that email address to your outgoing email so it lands in the right folder. We automate the emails we send from within the app we use, and it would be ideal to simply add a BCC address (or some kind of tag in the subject line) to a Gmail account (or other online service) which is then processed by a dropbox script to extract file attachments and save them in a DB folder. I want my clients to have the reports saved for future reference in a reliable storage system like Dropbox. If it is built into dropbox, we at least have the reassurance it is going to remain active as long as Dropbox is running.įor me, it's a super useful feature - we send out reports to clients and often these are scheduled. If we rely on third party apps there is a risk they stop working and we lose the functionality. ![]() I know this subject has been asked before, but it is a definite requirement for lots of folks.
